When I am taking notes while writing this article I often get distracted by other things. Sometimes it’s from writing but sometimes it’s from thinking about something else. I think it’s all about balance. I need to keep my thoughts and perceptions in check so I can take action.
Balance is something that I think we all struggle with, but it is something that I think can be a great advantage. When you are taking notes and feeling the need to take action, you are likely to be more productive as you are also spending less time focusing on the things that are distracting you.
I have no idea where I thought of this, I have been taking notes for 20+ years and I am still not very good at keeping my thoughts in check. I am always tempted to write down something, to take action, and then before I know it I have written down a bunch of notes that I need to go look at. I know this and I don’t mind it.
It’s true that you can easily over-think, and over-commit yourself to tasks. But if you get into a habit of over thinking and over committing then you might not be able to find the time to do the things that really matter anymore. When I was younger I still tended to get really excited about new projects because I knew that I could do them, but it was never about the task, it was about completing the project, and that never worked out.
In the end though, over-thinking, and over-committing really are the biggest killers of productivity. When we get to the point where we are doing the exact same thing over and over again, but we’re not spending as much time doing it, our productivity suffers.
So if you’re like me and like to see projects through to completion, it would make sense to invest in systems that help us stay on track. The first thing you should do is write down all of the steps that you need to accomplish before you start working on a particular task. This will ensure that you are on track and that you don’t get carried away with completing tasks as quickly as you can.
One of the best systems I know of to help keep your work on track is the Daily Plan. You can download it from our website here. It lists every step you need to take to complete the work you have planned for the day. It also explains what your goal is for the day, the deadlines you will have to meet, and the best way to write those down. This not only helps you stay on track, it also improves the speed at which you can complete your plans.
I use this system most days. It also works very well when it comes to the day I’m having a really bad day. I’ve found that when I have a really bad day, I’m in a rush to get to work. I get so caught up in the task at hand, that my brain doesn’t have time to process the new information I’m learning.
I know I tend to get very creative when Im just stressed. This is probably why I tend to be very creative when Im stressed and anxious. It helps me to not be completely on autopilot, and it allows me to stay aware of my surroundings and focus on what I need to do. It also helps me to stay more focused on the task at hand and it also helps me to stay more creative.
I can definitely relate to this. In fact, I think that’s why I tend to be creative when I’m stressed and anxious. When I’m stressed and anxious, I tend to get very creative. This works out great because I can’t do anything productive while I’m doing this. In fact, its so bad that I end up just doing random stuff.
